Bring your mug of coffee and come on in, let’s chat. I thought the first blog should provide an introduction to Dark Corner Coffee. As you probably noted in our introductory information our company is built on the ideals of the people of Dark Corner. If you have any doubt that Dark Corner is an actual place I challenge you to look it up and here is a starting website.
I grew up understanding that Dark Corner was a place a few miles up the road when in reality I lived on the southern edge. Most people did not want to admit they lived in Dark Corner. To the staunch predominantly Southern Baptist and Methodist residents any association with alcohol or illegal activities was shunned. So one way to avoid association was to point farther up the road to anyone looking for Dark Corner. But I grew up knowing people who operated stills and where to buy it if you wished to do so. It all seemed rather normal to me and some of those resident characters will be topics for future blogs.
I am sure the tales of illicit moonshine operations and revenuer disappearances were augmented by the partaking of the product. In reality, the people of Dark Corner have always been industrious, honest and proud. Their ideals are mine as well and are the basis of our company. I guess you could you could say we have dark roots!
While we are not the moonshine types, we hope our coffees bring a smile to your face and inspire you to chase your dreams, one day at a time. Drop back by later this week and we will discuss why you have a cup and a saucer. As for more Dark Corner tales, be patient they will come!
