First let me apologize for our lack of blogs over the last month or so. We have made some internal changes that diverted our focus for a bit. However, we are now back on track and I appreciate your patience. Hopefully, you have not defected to other coffee blogs! If you did, come back as we will be posting blogs on a regular basis again now.
Although the temperatures still say summer, we all know fall is on the way. Soon we will trade our iced coffee concoctions for hot coffee. I don’t know about you, but the thought of some things like pumpkin flavor in my coffee is not very appealing. (No offense to the Pumpkin Spice Latte folks!). So I thought I would provide some alternate fall coffees for you. Many coffees can be flavored with some other spices or flavors which complement coffee well. One suggestion is to try adding maple syrup instead of sugar. Maple is a Northeast flavor that is less sweet and perhaps a bit healthier as well! Or sprinkle a little nutmeg on a hot cup of coffee like our Dark Corner Classic and the smell will have visions of cozy fireplaces and snowflakes dancing in your head. The fall is a time for apple and nut harvests. I will say I have not tried this one, but apple spice syrup is supposed to turn your coffee into a liquid slice of apple pie. Hmmm….let me know if you try it! Many coffees have a natural nut flavored taste so adding a little hazelnut or butter pecan will enhance or even add a bit of nuttiness to the coffee.
If you are not feeling fall-ish just yet, a Soulful Reflections or Revenuer iced coffee with a hint of vanilla or chocolate flavor might be just the ticket. If you want to mimic the Starbucks vanilla sweet cream cold brew flavor mix here is an easy recipe for you that consists of sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract and a bit of sugar….yum!
That’s it for today, next time we will go back for a little history lesson on coffee. Come join us, bring your favorite cup of coffee and put your feet up for a little while.
